Renowned for his groundbreaking work in headache disorders, Professor Ashina will share insights from his illustrious career, discuss the vibrant life within diaspora communities, and address queries from attendees.

Born on December 29, 1965, Professor Ashina holds a dual heritage of Danish and Azerbaijani origins. He currently serves as Professor of Neurology at the University of Copenhagen and is a Senior Consultant of Neurology at Copenhagen University Hospital – Rigshospitalet. At the helm of the Human Migraine Research Unit at the Danish Headache Center, Copenhagen University Hospital – Rigshospitalet, his work has been pivotal in advancing our understanding of migraine and headache disorders. Additionally, as the Director of the Danish Knowledge Center on Headache Disorders and Past President of the International Headache Society, his contributions to the field are unparalleled. In recognition of his expertise, Professor Ashina has been ranked as the world’s leading expert on headache disorders by Expertscape as of 2024.
